Green Bay Metro assistant EMS chief promoted to overall assistant chief

GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Just a week after Green Bay Metro Fire Department announced Ray Fuiten’s promotion to Fire Chief, the other person who was in the running also received a promotion.

Eric Jeltema will now serve as Assistant Chief of Operations for the fire department—the role Fuiten just left to become Fire Chief. Jeltema previously served as the fire department’s Assistant Chief of EMS, Training, and Support Services.

Fuiten and Jeltema also served together as interim leadership at GBMFD after former Fire Chief Matthew Knott stepped away from the job in February.

Jeltema has served in the Green Bay Metro Fire Department since June 2005.
