(WNFL) – Milwaukee Brewers rookies Luis Lara and Cooper Pratt combined to drive in 6 runs to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to an 8-5 win over the Colorado Rockies at American Family Field in Milwaukee Saturday night.
The duo drove in their first runs in the second inning – Lara on a sacrifice fly and Pratt on a solo home run.
After Hunter Goodman tied the game with a 2-run single in the fourth, Pratt put the Brewers back ahead with a single to right for a 3-2 lead.
Lara then made it 5-2 with a 2-run double in the sixth with Pratt making it 6-2 with a sacrfice fly.
Lara made it 7-2 when he scored on a throwing error in the seventh with Pratt making it 8-2 when he scored on a sacrifice fly.
Colorado came back to make it 8-5 when they scored 3 runs off of reliever Lance McCullers Jr on 3 hits and 4 walks in 1 2/3 innings before Trevor Megill closed the game by getting the final out.
Robert Gasser got the win for the Brewers, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits over 6 innings. He is now 3-4.
Ryan Feltner allowed 5 runs in 5+ innings to take the loss for Colorado.
The 2 teams wrap up the series today with Jacob Misiorowski pitching for the Brewers. He is 10-4 with a 1.57 ERA.
Colorado will send Kyle Freeland to the mound. He is 2-9 with a 7.28 ERA.
