The Edmonton Oilers signed restricted free agent Colton Dach to a two-year, $2.4 million contract on Sunday.
The 23-year-old forward had nine points (three goals, six assists), a minus-15 rating, 47 penalty minutes, 27 blocks and 189 hits in 53 games for the Chicago Blackhawks last season before he was traded on March 4 with forward Jason Dickinson to the Oilers for forward Andrew Mangiapane and a conditional 2027 first-round draft pick.
Dach played eight regular-season games with Edmonton, totaling four points (two goals, two assists), a zero rating, five penalty minutes, two blocks and 30 hits.
The 6-foot-4, 218-pounder added one assist, four penalty minutes, one block and 23 hits in five playoff games for the Oilers.
His combined 219 hits last season ranked 14th in the league despite playing the fewest games (61) of players in the top 17.
Chicago selected Dach in the second round of the 2021 NHL Draft. He has 20 career points (seven goals, 13 assists), a minus-18 rating, 69 penalty minutes, 41 blocks and 305 hits in 86 regular-season games for the Blackhawks (2024-26) and Oilers (2026).
