CLEVELAND, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A heat lamp that fell on the floor caused a fire at a home in the Village of Cleveland.
Crews were called to the residence in the 800 block of Westview St. just after 8:40 p.m. Tuesday.
Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke and flames coming from the second story on multiple sides of the house.
After an hour and a half with multiple fire departments coming to assist, the fire was deemed under control, but crews stayed on scene to further contain hot spots.
An excavator was brought in to remove some of the walls and the roof of the building so the fire could be fully extinguished.
The fire was contained to the second floor, although the basement and first floor sustained heavy water and smoke damage.
One person was inside at the time of the fire, but he was able to get out safely.
No injuries were reported.
The Cleveland Fire Department was assisted by nearly 20 agencies, including the Howards Grove, Kiel, Newton and Valders Fire Departments.
