“Gravetok” Influencer Recreates Recipes

Heard of #Gravetok? #Gravetok influencers on TikTok post videos of themselves visiting burial sites, cleaning headstones and following recipes inscribed on them. Rosie Grant, an archivist and TikTok influencer, has been traveling the U.S. since 2021 to visit burial sites of those who left recipes on their tombstones. She creates fudge, snickerdoodles, and chicken soup, sharing her creations with her followers.  Caitlin Abrams, a software curriculum developer from rural Vermont with the TikTok account @manicpixiemom, restores graves that are centuries old and narrates the clips with details about the deceased person’s life, including family lineage and tragedies of child loss.
