APPLETON (WLUK) — You can support your local veterans by grabbing a brat.
Each Wednesday through October from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Appleton American Legion Post 38 will host Brat Frys on their grounds at 3220 W. College Avenue. Proceeds from those weekly events benefit the Appleton American Legion Post 38’s programs which support local veterans and their families.
On Wednesday, Aug. 20, the Appleton American Legion Post 38 will extend the hours of their weekly Brat Fry to be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will direct ALL of the proceeds from that day’s efforts to the Old Glory Honor Flight. The goal is to exceed the amount that was raised at the 2024 event for Old Glory Honor Flight, which was $7,500.
Menu options include brats, hot dogs, single, double, and triple hamburgers, chips, and refreshments. It is requested that large orders are called in ahead of time at (920) 733.9840.
Other features at this year’s event include:
- Corn on the cob will be available courtesy of The Bar on Lynndale.
- Appleton American Legion Auxiliary Unit 38 members will be selling sweet treats.
There will also be music and the Fox Valley Humane Association will be on-site with some of their furry friends.
