Blue Origin Makes History with Star-Studded First All-Female Flight Crew

Blue Origin just launched its first-ever all-female flight crew into space!

The NS-31 mission lifted off from West Texas on Monday, April 14, with a star-studded crew that included pop star Katy Perry, journalist Gayle King, and philanthropist Lauren Sánchez (aka Jeff Bezos’ fiancée). Also onboard: former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, bioastronautics researcher Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn.

The trip aboard the New Shepard rocket lasted about eight minutes, sending the crew to the edge of space and back.

Watching from the launch site were Perry’s daughter Daisy, Oprah, and even Kris Jenner and Khloé Kardashian.
