GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Fire crews want to remind people to completely extinguish fire pits after an incident in Green Bay.
Green Bay Metro Fire was dispatched to a home on the 2400 block of Heather Road early Saturday morning.
Crews found a deck had caught fire.
The blaze was quickly extinguished with some fire hitting the side of the house, but not going inside.
A fire pit on the deck caused the fire.
No one was injured. There’s an estimated $30,000 in damages.
Officials suggest using water to extinguish your fire pits at the end of your evening and monitor them for any additional flare ups.
