(WTAQ-WLUK) — Fishing season is about to begin across Wisconsin.
Saturday is opening day of the season on general inland waters. That includes most lakes in the state, except lakes Michigan and Superior and their tributaries, the Winnebago System lakes and waters along the state borders.
Anglers will be hitting the water in search of bass, northern pike, musky and walleye.
But before heading out onto the water, there are things to keep in mind.
First is a fishing license. Licenses can be bought online or in person. The fee for an annual individual license is $20.
Second is to know the weather conditions.
