The snowstorm left thousands stranded as their cars went into ditches or were just stuck due to the amount of snow.
In Kansas City, Missouri a homeless man named Dave Cochran, who lives out of his car with his do and girlfriend, came across a car that was stuck.
What jumped out to Cochran initially was the car had Texas license plates, indicating to him that the person driving probably didn’t have much experience in the snow.
Upon pulling over to help, Cochran met the driver – who happened to be a player for the Kansas City Chiefs – and he was on his way to the team’s playoff game vs. the Indianapolis Colts.
Jeff Allen was the driver, an offensive lineman, and after the game Tweeted a message trying to track Dave down to repay him.
The Tweet was shared thousands of times and Allen finally got in contact with Cochran, who was a lifelong Chiefs fan, but had never been to a game.
Allen hooked Cochran up with tickets to this weekend’s AFC Championship game in Kansas City vs. the New England Patriots.
Cochran only expected a ‘thank you’ – and got quite emotional as he mentioned it was a dream come true.
