WRIGHTSTOWN, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The sound of rumbling motorcycles is making a difference throughout Wisconsin. The American Legion Riders organized a three-day statewide motorcycle ride, which started Friday and includes a fundraiser for the Highground Rising project which aims to expand a veteran’s complex in Neillsville.
Randy Timms is the District 1 Legion Rider President.
“It’s a wonderful feeling to be involved with veterans on a day like today and the next couple of days but it’s a great thing to be able to provide the funding for the Highground Rising project,” said Timms.
“It’s a wonderful effort on the part of the citizens in the community that give money and they care about our veterans,” said Department Commander Greg Eirich of Wisconsin American Legion.
Riders will stop at various posts across the state to collect donations and raise awareness, including Wrightstown. The ride ends on Sunday in Neillsville.
