3. A 14-year-old cross-country runner from Chippewa Falls (in the Western part of Wisconsin) has run the entire season while pushing her 15-year-old brother in his wheelchair.
Susan Bergeman has always been close to her brother Jeffery, who at 22 months old suffered sudden cardiac arrest which led to a diagnosis of cerebral palsy. Even though Jeffery cannot speak or walk, his sister would have it no other way than to run while pushing Jeffery in his wheelchair, which weigh more than she does, over the cross-country course terrains.
