TOWN OF WAGNER, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A 46-year-old Porterfield man has died Saturday night after crashing into a tree while on a snowmobile.
The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened just before midnight on Saturday night after they received a call from a nearby snowmobiler.
The snowmobiler who called dispatch said they saw the crashed snowmobile and victim off of the trail.
Authorities say the crash happened at trail number S-1 west of Highway 180 in the Town of Wagner.
The Marinette County Medical Examiner pronounced Tony F. Camps dead at the scene due to head and internal injuries.
Speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
