GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — One of downtown Green Bay’s bridges is closing for nearly three weeks.
Public works officials say the Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge, which connects Dousman and Main streets across the Fox River, will be closed from Oct. 12-30 for construction work. Neither vehicles nor pedestrians will be able to cross the bridge. Drivers will be detoured onto Broadway, Walnut Street and Monroe Avenue.
Mariners who need the bridge lifted will need to provide two-hour advance notice. The bridge will be able to be lifted between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily, except on Oct. 19, 20 and 21. Boats that can pass under the lowered bridge can do so at any time.
