(ST NORBERT COMMUNICATIONS) DE PERE – St. Norbert College picked up its first win of the season in a 1-0 triumph over UW-Stout Polytechnic in a non-conference match at Schneider Stadium.
The Green Knights (1-1-1) were supplied with a late goal from Quinn Graham, his second goal of the week. Linus Coleman (pictured) provided the assist at 82:33 to break the goalless draw.
Joe Anguil came the closest for St. Norbert in the first half, with his shot being saved by Lucas Biederman. Pawel Plancia had an opportunity at 72:09 before Graham slotted home the game-winning goal shortly after.
St. Norbert outshot the Blue Devils 18-7. Gabriel Mathisen kept a clean sheet in his first collegiate match, making one save. Biederman made three saves for UW-Stout.
The Green Knights will play in three more non-conference matches next week before starting Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play against Marian University.
WOMEN
Elmhurst 2, St. Norbert 0
ELMHURST, Ill. – St. Norbert College succumbed to a 2-0 road loss at Elmhurst University in a non-conference game at Langhorst Field.
The Green Knights (1-2) conceded both goals in the first half. Kelli Coughlin converted at the penalty spot at 26:55 to make it 1-0 before Ailani Zires doubled the lead just three minutes later.
Aleah Reesman had St. Norbert’s best chance at goal with her shot being saved just before the end of the first half.
Leah Hess was kept busy between the posts, making seven saves, including six in the second half.
The Green Knights were outshot 19-2 in the loss.
