OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – After a positive drug test, the bond was increased Thursday for Jennifer O’Connor, who allegedly sold a fatal dose of methamphetamine for $20.
O’Connor, 41, is charged with first-degree reckless homicide, meth possession, and maintaining a drug trafficking place in connection with the Feb. 17 death at a Sawyer Street home. The victim is not identified by name in the complaint.
O’Connor’s bond was originally $20,000 cash. It was later increased to $22,000 cash, which was posted, and she was released.
In court Thursday, it was noted that O’Connor is “still testing positive for amphetamines and cocaine,” court records show. The bond was then increased to $32,000 cash.
Also Thursday, after testimony at a preliminary hearing, O’Connor was ordered to stand trial. Arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 14, court records state.
According to the complaint, police were called to the residence by the victim’s roommate. While the victim was revived with Narcan, he later died. Police found drugs and drug paraphernalia at the home.
Police contacted O’Connor, who admitted selling the drugs to the victim. He is identified as “V1” in the complaint.
Inv. Wunnicke reported that Jennifer admitted V1 paid her $20 via CashApp for the meth. Jennifer stated she filled a clean syringe V1 provided and left it in the upstairs bathroom inside a white cupboard above the toilet. Jennifer later informed V1 where it was and told him to meet her in the basement afterward so he could assist her with injecting meth. Jennifer stated that she did not observe V1 use the meth, but assumed he used it in the bathroom Jennifer stated that V1 appeared “alive and well” when she dropped him off,” the complaint states.
An autopsy determined the victim died of cocaine and methamphetamine toxicity, according to the complaint.
