(WTAQ-WLUK) — Northeast Wisconsin is about to experience its warmest weather of the year.
Extreme Heat Watches have already been issued along and south of Highway 29 and inland of Interstate 43.
Highs on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday could range from 90 to 95 degrees.
Combined with dew points that will push into the 70s at times, we could see heat index readings over 100 each afternoon.
Heat-related risks like heat exhaustion and heat stroke become much more likely under these conditions.
Make sure you are drinking plenty of water, wear light and loose-fitting clothing, avoid layers, and taking lots of breaks if you do have to be outside.
We also have to keep an eye out for thunderstorms at times, and the first chance arrives tonight.
Scattered storms with one or two reaching severe levels are possible tonight, mainly after 9 p.m.
