Noah Czarneski (Lee County Jail, Florida)
GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A sexual assault suspect who was arrested in Florida more than five months after leaving town is now being held on a $1 million cash bond.
In Brown County, 20-year-old Noah Czarneski faces charges of sexual intercourse with a child 16 or older and bail jumping. In Calumet County, he faces multiple sexual assault and bail jumping counts.
In Brown County court Friday, his bond was set at $1 million cash after Court Commissioner Cynthia Vopal rejected his defense attorney’s assertion the previously-posted $30,000 cash bond was sufficient moving forward.
“He was out on cash bond. A significant amount of cash bond. That didn’t deter him from fleeing the state, pretending to die and go and live another life in a different community. He’s a massive flight risk. I have absolutely zero confidence he would appear in court in any way. He has proven he is willing to forego family, and everything that had ties to this area, to flee,” Vopal said. “He’s the definition of danger to the community and a flight risk.”
Czarneski returns to court May 14 for a status hearing.
In October 2025, a vehicle driven by Czarneski was found abandoned near Dundas in Calumet County. He had not been in contact with family members for several days at that point and was subsequently reported missing. After he missed an October court date, a warrant was issued for Czarneski.
More than five months later, in late March, Czarneski was booked into the Lee County Jail in Fort Myers, Florida, as an out-of-state fugitive. He had given false identification to law enforcement.
