TWO RIVERS, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Two Rivers City Council has unanimously accepted the resignation of City Manager Kyle Kordell, after he was arrested three times in three days stemming from an alleged domestic violence incident over the weekend.
Police say Kordell was arrested Sunday in Manitowoc after officers responded to a family disturbance. He was booked into the county jail and later released on bond. He was arrested on Monday and again on Tuesday, both for violating a 72-hour Domestic Abuse protection order.
Police Chief Ben Meinert will continue serving as acting city manager while the city searches for an interim replacement. The council says it plans to appoint an interim manager as soon as possible, then begin the process of hiring a permanent city manager.
In a statement, council members say they have handled the situation carefully and ethically, while protecting the city and those involved. The council says further updates will come directly from the city.
