Stephanie Oropeza, a 25-year-old nursing student, was heading home from a Halloween party around 4:00 a.m. in Orlando, Florida, when she witnessed a vehicle slam directly into the outdoor patio seating area of a local bar. Still zipped into her full-length banana costume, Oropeza immediately called 911 and sprinted straight toward the wreckage to check on the driver and assess the scene. Miraculously, no one was injured in the collision.
After the dust settled, the bar posted surveillance footage to social media in hopes of identifying the anonymous fruit who sprang into action. Once tracked down, the establishment treated Oropeza to a complimentary dinner and permanently cemented her status as a local legend by adding a signature rum-and-banana cocktail to the drink menu in her honor.
