WAUTOMA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A 34-year-old Wautoma man is in the Waushara County Jail on a $15,000 bond after authorities said he entered a neighbor’s home and attacked him with a knife.
Wautoma police and the Waushara County Sheriff’s Department responded Sept. 28, to the 600 block of West Cummings Road in Wautoma for a report of a male stabbing victim, according to a Wautoma Police Department press release. The victim was taken by Waushara County EMS to ThedaCare Hospital in Wild Rose for treatment and was reported to be in good condition.
Deputies transported the suspect to the Waushara County Jail. Wautoma police said they interviewed the suspect, Steven Fiebrink, 34, of Wautoma.
According to the press release, Fiebrink told police he was angry with his neighbor “for waking him up over McDonalds and not agreeing to help him.” Police said Fiebrink stated he entered the neighbor’s residence, held a Buck Knife to the neighbor’s throat and then stabbed the neighbor in the arm.
On Sept. 30, the Waushara County district attorney charged Fiebrink with recklessly endangering safety, substantial battery and disorderly conduct, the release said.
“The Waushara County District Attorney reminds all that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty,” the press release said.
