GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — With November’s general election quickly approaching, elections officials discussed their preparations Wednesday in Green Bay.
At a news conference, Wisconsin Elections Commission administrator Meagan Wolfe explained that official information is available at the MyVote Wisconsin website. There, voters can find out how to register, where to vote and what is on their ballot, among other information.
Brown County clerk Patrick Moynihan Jr. and De Pere city clerk Carey Danen discussed the roles of poll workers and how elections are secured.
In the wake of the city of Green Bay sending out duplicate absentee ballots for two elections this year, Wolfe said WEC had no reason to suspect duplicate ballots were being sent in any other municipalities. She also explained that there are safeguards in place to make sure only one ballot per voter is counted.
Celestine Jeffreys, who was Green Bay city clerk when the duplicates were sent out, resigned in August. A WEC investigation found she broke state law, but did not list a punishment.
