GREENVILLE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Wisconsin soldiers are returning home after a nearly yearlong mobilization in the Middle East.
The first of two groups of soldiers assigned to the 1st Battalion, 121st Field Artillery Regiment will be formally recognized Friday as they return to the Appleton Flight Center.
The 1-121st FA, Wisconsin Army National Guard, is headquartered in Oak Creek and includes Battery A in Hartford, Battery B in Two Rivers, and the 108th Forward Support Company in Sussex. The battalion is part of the 157th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, based in Milwaukee. Its equipment has evolved from the M109 howitzer to the M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System in 2003 and, since 2010, the M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System.
