The search for the next musical superstar is officially underway as American Idol launches its virtual audition tour, “Idol Across America,” for its milestone 25th season.
Senior Producer Melissa Elfar announced that singers nationwide can audition live over Zoom from the comfort of their own homes. While Wisconsin’s dedicated audition date is scheduled for September 1, applicants can choose any state date on the calendar that fits their schedule.
Elfar promises that every single person who registers will be seen and heard live by a producer.
How the Virtual Audition Works

Where to Register: Sign up online here.

The Process: Once registered, applicants receive a Zoom link. During the audition, singers will chat live with a producer, perform, and learn about potential next steps.

Song Preparation: Have 1 to 2 songs ready (a verse and a chorus for each). Choose tracks that best highlight your unique vocal ability.

Accompaniment: You can sing acapella, play your own instrument, have someone accompany you, or sing along to a backing track.
Eligibility & Requirements

Age Limit: Contestants must be between 15 and 28 years old (full eligibility terms are listed on the website).

Location: You do not need to be physically located in the state whose audition date you select—you can audition from anywhere with a stable internet connection and a Zoom-compatible device.
