(LEARFIELD) – A night after being shut out, Milwaukee Brewers bats came alive in an 8-2 win over the Giants at Oracle Park in San Francisco.
Tuesday’s 13-hit attack backed good pitching by starter and winner Logan Henderson and four relievers.
Henderson went 5 2/3 innings, allowing just 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 7.
Aaron Ashby, Craig Yoho, Garrett Anderson and Abner Uribe closed out the game. Anderson gave up the San Francisco runs.
Brice Turang had three hits and rookie Luis Lara knocked in three runs.
Leading 1-0 after 3 innings, the Brewers scored 3 runs in the fourth on an RBI single by Cooper Pratt and a 2-run hit by Turang.
Lara, after driving in a run with a groundout in the fifth inning, tripled in the seventh inning to score 2 more runs.
Milwaukee tries to take the series in a game Wednesday afternoon with Shane Drohan on the hill.
Drohan is 5-4 with a 3.51 ERA.
San Francisco will send Logan Webb who is 5-7 with a 3.98 ERA to the mound.
