You’ve probably already seen it. A grandfather at Yellowstone gets tossed a full 8 feet in the air by a very, VERY angry bison. And yeah, it’s as wild as it sounds.
It happened Friday night at the Bridge Bay Campground near Lake Yellowstone. A 65-year-old man and his grandson stopped to snap a few photos of a bison from a safe distance. Then the bison stood up, got agitated, and bolted straight at them. The two ran and tried to hide behind some trees, but a bison can hit 35 mph. It caught up, hooked the grandpa with a horn, and flipped him into the air.
A tourist was seriously injured Friday evening after being thrown 8 feet into the air by a bull bison in Yellowstone National Park. Professional photographer Mike Macleod filmed the incident and said the bison was "angry, agitated and charging anything and everything." (No audio) pic.twitter.com/ELmHQjvxFj

Photographer Mike MacLeod caught the whole thing. He said it was “like watching a bulldozer move out at 45 miles an hour.”
MacLeod and other campers chased the bison off and helped the man, who was rushed to a hospital and underwent surgery. He’s still hospitalized. Witnesses say the guys weren’t doing anything wrong; it was just rutting season, when the bulls turn extra aggressive.
Stay safe out there. And maybe zoom in with the camera instead of walking up.
