GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — After its former home was condemned due to a collapsed roof, Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary has found a temporary home in Green Bay.
In an announcement on Facebook, Safe Haven revealed that it will be housed in the school wing at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church for the time being.
Safe Haven thanked the church for offering them the space at an affordable cost, allowing them to save toward purchasing a permanent building.
Under its temporary home, the pet sanctuary will have a dedicated wing for cats, an event space, commercial kitchen, and a large parking lot.
The pet sanctuary’s former home was heavily damaged during heavy rain and hail on June 24.
The storm led to part of the building’s roof to collapse, which forced the evacuation of the volunteers.
All cats in the sanctuary were found safe, after some cats were located and captured the day after the storms.
Safe Haven is still raising money on GoFundMe to purchase a permanent home in the future.
