LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (WTAQ-WLUK) – Gary Day was convicted in federal court Tuesday for counts related to abducting a Beaver Dam teenager who was pregnant with his child.
Day pleaded guilty to enticement of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, and production of child sexual abuse material. Other counts were dismissed, court records show.
A sentencing date was not immediately set. Day faces 25 years-to-life in prison.
Day was found April 2, 2025, at a truck stop in Nebraska with the 17-year-old victim, who was pregnant with his child. The girl had been missing for two months and was the subject of an Amber Alert. She has since been reunited with her family.
Authorities have said Day and the victim met online and there was a no contact order in place between the two. Police reported that while Day was on the run, he changed his appearance by growing a beard and mustache.
Day also faces state charges in Dodge County, including child abduction. An Aug. 10 scheduling conference is set in that case.
