A 48-year-old Pennsylvania man named Erik Pierwsza is facing major criminal charges after responding to his wife’s demand for a divorce by hopping into a heavy-duty excavator and attempting to demolish their family home.
The incident unfolded on Tuesday. When his wife informed him that their marriage was officially over, the argument escalated until Pierwsza said, “If it’s over, I’ll tear the house down.” He then stormed outside, climbed into a large excavator parked on the property, and began ripping into the structure, all while his wife and their two young daughters were still inside.
Fortunately, police arrived on the scene and arrested him before anyone was physically injured. The excavator tore down a massive chunk of the roof and severely compromised the home’s structural integrity. Pierwsza is now locked up and facing a laundry list of serious charges.
