NIAGARA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — One person is injured and another is in custody following a bar stabbing in Marinette County over the weekend.
Around 1:35 a.m. Saturday, the Niagara Police Department and Marinette County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported stabbing at the Pit Stop Bar & Grill in the city of Niagara.
Once on scene, law enforcement found an adult male with a stab wound to his leg. First responders transported the victim to a hospital in Iron Mountain, Michigan. Authorities said his injuries are non-life-threatening.
The suspect, a 40-year-old man, fled the bar before police arrived, but he was quickly located and arrested. Recommended charges include aggravated battery – intend bodily harm.
A preliminary investigation revealed the bar stabbing stemmed from “a minor verbal altercation.”
