(247NEWSSOURCE/LEARFIELD) – The Milwaukee Brewers won their fifth game in a row.
Milwaukee scored five runs in the fourth inning to beat the San Diego Padres 6-4 in their series opener.
Brice Turang, Sal Frelick and Joey Ortiz each drove in a pair of runs in the victory.
Ortiz said that hopefully this is a sign of things to come.
He added that his pre-game batting practice session didn’t go well.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy talked about Ortiz hitting his first home run in 10 months.
Murphy also talked about how tough it’s been playing without Jackson Chourio, Andrew Vaughn and Christian Yelich who came off of IL yesterday.
Brandon Sproat allowed three runs over six-and-a-third innings to get the win and Abner Uribe secured the save.
Sproat talked about getting the win.
The teams will continue their series tonight.
Jacob Misiorowski who is 3-2 with a 2.45 ERA is scheduled to pitch for the Brewers.
San Diego will counter with Michael King who is 3-2 with an ERA of 2.76.
