The Lottbrein family in Buffalo just went from a cozy group of four to a full-blown squad of nine! On December 18th, they welcomed quintuplets Holly, Mason, Stefan, Connor, and Layla at Golisano Children’s Hospital. The birth was a total “all hands on deck” situation, with the babies arriving in a lightning-fast eight-minute window, with about five team members assigned to every single baby to make sure they were stable from the jump.
They started out tiny at around 2 pounds each, but a month later, they’ve already doubled their weight. They’re joining two big sisters, ages 5 and 1, which officially means these parents are managing seven kids under the age of six.
Right now, the babies are still getting stronger in the NICU, and the parents are just taking it day by day. Jessica, the mom, says it’s been surreal watching them grow as individuals while still being part of this incredible set of five.
