(WTAQ-WLUK) — Two people with previous drunk driving offenses were arrested within 20 minutes of one another Sunday for operating while under the influence.
Shortly after 5:30 p.m., the Manitowoc County Communications Center received a complaint about a vehicle traveling southbound on County Highway R, south of Zander Road. The caller said the vehicle was traveling at low speeds and could not maintain its lane.
When a trooper from the Wisconsin State Patrol located the vehicle, it was “parked off into a field entrance with the driver slumped over the steering wheel.”
After field sobriety testing, 38-year-old Daven Brey of Maribel was arrested for his 5th OWI offense, operating while revoked and an outstanding warrant.
Less than 20 minutes later, another State Patrol trooper stopped a vehicle traveling on I-41 south of Scheuring Road for a speeding violation. Officials say the trooper observed signs of impairment, but the driver refused field sobriety testing.
Colton Lentz, 33, of Appleton was arrested for his 4th OWI offense.
Officials say results of legal blood samples for both men are still pending.
