1.Leonardo Dicaprio was considered for Private Ryan in “Saving Private Ryan”, but Steven Spielberg wanted a relatively unknown actor. So he cast Matt Damon . . . just BEFORE “Good Will Hunting” came out.
2. Astronauts who go to the International Space Station need to become fluent in both English and Russian before they go.
3. Only one person from Japan has achieved the highest rank in sumo wrestling since 1998. It’s called “yokozuna,” and everyone else since 1999 has come from either the United States or Mongolia.
4. Hanging is still a legal form of execution in three states: Washington, Delaware, and New Hampshire. (That said, these three states have all ended the death penalty, though New Hampshire still has one man on death row.)
