GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Much of the hype surrounding the Packers game at Lambeau Field on Sunday, December 3rd, wasn’t about the matchup itself — rather, global superstar Taylor Swift.
“As soon as we found out that they were dating, me and my friend were like tracking the tickets to this game,” said Tabitha Bywater, a Packers fan from Waukesha.
On Sunday, the speculation ended after Swift was spotted walking inside Lambeau Field ahead of the game.
“People from all over the world are going to watch this game to see Taylor,” said Dixon Poggi, from Marquette, Michigan.
It didn’t matter whether you were wearing red, or Green and Gold.
Fans from both teams say they were looking forward to seeing Taylor Swift at Lambeau Field.
“Being a diehard Green Bay Packer fan, when your two worlds collide,” said Trisha Hanold, from Green Bay. “You can’t help but be overjoyed with having the queen herself Taylor Swift be here and then also seeing our Green Bay Packers playing her lover.”
“It’s awesome, I mean, every time that Taylor’s in the stadium Travis Kelce has the best day of his life,” said Isaac Decker, a Chiefs fan from Wichita, Kansas. “So, I hope she comes to every single game.”
Green Bay is no stranger to stardom.
Other celebrities and world-class athletes frequent Packers games.
But many fans say Taylor Swift is in a class of her own.
“Taylor Swift is above everyone else and I hope everyone agrees with that,” said Hanold.
“Especially with Spotify wrapped coming out and her being the number one artist, I think there’s even more focus on her,” said Morgan Healey, from Green Bay.
The celebrity count from last night’s game also included gymnastic legend Simone Biles and award winning actor Tony Shaloub.
