GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Green Bay police say they made an arrest after a 19-year-old was accidentally shot.
Shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday, police were dispatched to a local hospital for a report of a gunshot wound victim who had been transported by another individual.
Police say the shooting occurred in the 1300 block of Harvey Street when 19-year-old Miguel Lavariega of Green Bay brought a .22 rifle to the residence to show the victim when it allegedly accidently fired.
The gun was recovered from the scene.
Lavariega is charged with second-degree reckless injury, use of a dangerous weapon and obstructing an officer.
He is being held on a $25,000 cash bond and is due back in court Tuesday.
The incident remains under investigation.
