Back in 1983 a NYC Firefighter pulled a 4-year-old girl from a burning building, saving her life. Shortly thereafter, the girl's family moved away and now 41-year-old Deirdre Taylor is searching for her hero while working as a nurse in Virginia.
During the pandemic, she volunteers to go to NYC to provide extra help and brought with her the newspaper clipping showing a picture of her rescue. During a visit to the hospital from a group of firefighters, thanking the doctors and nurses, Taylor decided to show the old picture to a firefighter, who instantly identified the hero as Eugene Pugliese- and even had his cell number!
After speaking, Taylor said Pugliese told her that he remembers her and that day very vividly. She told him she knows she wouldn't be alive today if it wasn't for him. As soon as the pandemic is over, the two will meet for the first time in 37 years!
