A quick-thinking cab driver helped save an elderly woman $25,000 recently in California.
Raj Singh was driving a 92-year-old woman to her bank so she could withdraw the $25,000 she was just told on a phone call that she owed the government.
Upon learning this and knowing it didn’t sound right, he asked the woman for her phone so he could call back the “IRS employee” – who couldn’t answer any of his questions about the woman and eventually blocked him.
The woman still wasn’t convinced it wasn’t real – so Singh instead drove her to the police station – where an officer sat down with her and explained that it
was
in-fact a scam.
The officers commended the cab driver on his gesture and posted it about on their Facebook page – and even presented him with a $50 cash card for his good deed!
