APPLETON, WI (WLUK) — The band director at Fox Valley Lutheran High School has been arrested on suspicion of possession of child pornography.
Appleton police say James Neujahr was arrested at the school Wednesday morning. The school then placed him on administrative leave.
No charges have been filed.
FVL president Jeffrey Loberger released a statement reading:
We trust in our Lord’s love and forgiveness as we work together with our local authorities to navigate this difficult situation. FVL remains steadfast in its mission to provide a Christ-centered education and to care for our students, school families, and staff.
The case began with a tip through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, according to the police department.
Police say there is no evidence that any children at the school were harmed. Anyone with information is asked to call Appleton police at (920) 832-5500.
According to his biography on FVL’s website, Neujahr is also the executive director of the Lutheran Vanguard of Wisconsin, a marching band consisting of students from nine Lutheran high schools.
