(ST NORBERT COMMUNICATIONS) DE PERE – St. Norbert cruised to a 5-0 win over Lakeland University, holding a three-goal lead at halftime in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Schneider Stadium.
The Green Knights (10-6) celebrated senior night in style with a third shutout in the last five games. Senior Kevin Ramirez started the scoring at 13:16 from an assist by Kenzo Sly-Umebayashi, while Hayden Dunn’s eighth goal of the season came from a free kick nearly 35 yards out to escape Lakeland’s grasp. Ben Swicionis (pictured) made it 3-0 at 43:11 thanks to an assist from Thomas Raundalen.
Joe Lewcock evaded Lakeland keeper Conley Sundblad at 72:25 with a Swicionis assist to make it 4-0, while seniors Brock Stephens and Payton Schilz connected moments later at 75:36 for the final goal of the evening, with Stephens recording his second goal of the season.
St. Norbert outshot Lakeland 13-8 and trailed 4-2 in corner kicks. Adan Martinez-Ponce made his first start of the season and made three saves in just over 75 minutes in goal. Substitute Teodor Sand made one save in the final 14:24.
Sundblad made one save for the Muskies.
WOMEN
ST. NORBERT 2, LAKELAND 2
PLYMOUTH – St. Norbert College battled to a 2-2 draw with Lakeland University in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference matchup at Taylor Field.
The Green Knights (3-12-2, 3-5-2 NACC) added their second tie of the season, with both teams scoring one goal in each half. The Muskies opened the scoring with a goal at 24:19, but Lexi Fredenhagen (pictured) responded seven minutes later, converting a pass from Mackenzie Schneider at 31:12 to tie it up heading into halftime.
Lakeland regained the lead early in the second half, but the Green Knights rallied late. Addie Schneider found the back of the net in the 86th minute, heading in a corner from Mackenzie Schneider, who tallied her second assist of the game to secure the 2-2 draw.
St. Norbert held a 4-1 edge in corners and outshot Lakeland 22-6. Seven different Green Knights combined for 15 shots on goal, with four coming from Addie Schneider and three from Abigail Rabideau.
Leah Hess played all 90 minutes in goal, making two saves.
Malaya Sperber scored both goals for the Muskies.
