(ST NORBERT COMMUNICATIONS) DE PERE – St. Norbert College dropped a 2-0 contest to UW-Stevens Point, conceding a goal in each half in a non-conference game at Schneider Stadium.
The Green Knights (1-4) were on equal footing with the Pointers through most of the first half, until Vincent Bianco’s strike made it 1-0 at 34:13. Stevens Point added a second at 55:48 as the Green Knights trailed 2-0 with most of the second half still to play.
Kevin Ramirez came agonizingly close to getting a goal the Green Knights desperately needed, with a free kick from 30 yards out hitting the lower left woodwork. Hayden Dunn also came close to adding his name on the score sheet, with his attempt at 89:55 troubling the Pointers goalkeeper to make a stop with seconds remaining.
St. Norbert outshot the Pointers 11-9, with nine Green Knight shots coming in the second half. St. Norbert also led in corners 3-1. Both teams had 15 fouls apiece.
Jackson Kiszka made one save while Adan Martinez-Ponce added another in relief. Dunn, Ramirez and Yosef Navarro (pictured) all had two shots.
