BRILLION, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Brillion police officer was hurt and their squad car was totaled after crashing during a pursuit.
Just before 11 p.m. Tuesday, a Brillion police officer attempted to pull over a vehicle. The driver continued driving away from the officer, despite the officer driving a marked squad car with emergency lights and sirens activated.
A pursuit ensued and the officer crashed on south Glenview Avenue.
The officer sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital by the department’s captain. The officer was treated and released.
The squad was deemed a total loss and the city is working with its insurance provider to get a replacement.
Due to availability, the Calumet County Sheriff’s Department was unable to investigate the crash so the Wisconsin State Patrol will be conducting it.
