(WTAQ-WLUK) — Damage is evident all across Northeast Wisconsin following a round of severe storms and reported tornadoes on Wednesday night.
Tornado warnings were issued in parts of Waupaca, Oconto, Menominee and Outagamie counties. So far, the National Weather Service has reported two tornadoes on the ground: one south of Clintonville and another in the Oconto/Lena area.
Some of the worst damage is seen along Highway 22 in the Gillett area.
Jon Spice, Oconto County emergency management director, says first responders did a fantastic job Wednesday night. No injuries were reported.
“We certainly were very fortunate, could have certainly been a lot worse. I’m not exactly sure what the damage is a little bit to the west, it sounds like they may have gotten it a little bit worse than we did,” Spice said.
He added that he will be working with other departments to establish a cooling shelter for residents who need a place to cool down and charge their electronics.
The National Weather Service also reported a tornado south of Clintonville in Waupaca County.
Officials will be out Thursday to assess the damage and confirm.
Emergency crews want people to remember to stay away from crews working to clean up storm damage.
