KIMBERLY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Village of Kimberly may end its contract with the Fox Valley Metro Police Department.
Just not yet.
Village leaders met Monday night to discuss the next steps. Kimberly shares the Fox Valley Metro Police Department with the Village of Little Chute — a partnership most residents want to continue.
Listening sessions and online polling indicate that 75% of local residents want the village to stick with Fox Valley Metro Police and just 17% prefer the village to contract with the Outagamie County Sheriff’s office instead, a move village officials estimate would save about $279,000 per year.
The village board is set to meet with Little Chute leaders July 14, so a final decision is still a few weeks away.
