(247NEWSSOURCE) – A veteran starting pitcher is now a free agent.
Wade Miley opted out of his contract with the Reds on Sunday.
Manager Terry Francona said the 38-year-old deserves an opportunity to “look around” and it wouldn’t be fair to stash him in the bullpen.
Miley has an 8.84 ERA between minor league teams Louisville and Dayton this season.
He’s coming off Tommy John surgery after making just two starts with the Brewers last year.
