(SOURCE METRO) PITTSBURGH – Brandon Woodruff and three relievers held the Pirates to one hit in a 3-0 Brewers’ victory in Pittsburgh.
Woodruff struck out 10, walked one and gave up one hit, a swinging bunt single to Phillip Evans, the second batter he faced. He came out with one out in the seventh.
Woodruff talked about his outing.
From the Pirates dugout, Pittsburgh manager Derek Shelton said his batters had a tough time facing Woodruff.
Ben Gamel and Keston Hiura homered for Milwaukee.
Pirates starter Joe Musgrove yielded three runs on four hits, including both homers, and struck out eight in five-plus innings.
Josh Bell and Jacob Stallings each struck out three times in a combined six at-bats.
