MILWAUKEE – Class-A Carolina Mudcats manager Nick Stanley today was named Carolina League Manager of the Year by Minor League Baseball. The award was voted on by fellow league managers.
In his first season as manager, Stanley led the Mudcats to a 78-51 record in 2024. Carolina went 41-24 in the first half to earn the first-half Carolina League North Division title and a postseason berth for a second straight season.
It marks the second consecutive season the Mudcats have had their skipper earn Manager of the Year, as Victor Estevez, currently manager of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, became the first person in Carolina franchise history to win the award in 2023.
The 37-year-old just completed his seventh season in the Brewers organization and first as a Minor League manager. Stanley spent 2023 as bench coach at Double-A Biloxi. He previously served as the hitting coach at Class-A Wisconsin (2021-22), Rookie Rocky Mountain (2019) and the Rookie DSL Indians/Brewers (2018). Stanley was slated to manage the Rookie Arizona Brewers Gold in 2020 before the season was cancelled.
Additionally, infielder Cooper Pratt currently with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers was named a Carolina League All-Star at utility by league managers.
Pratt, 20, batted .295/.394/.395 with 11 doubles, 3 triples, 3 HR, 36 RBI, 43 runs and 25 stolen bases in 73 games with Carolina in 2024 before being promoted to High-A Wisconsin on July 29.
Selected in the sixth round of the 2023 First-Year Player Draft out of Magnolia Heights (MS) High School, Pratt is ranked as Milwaukee’s No. 2 prospect and No. 58 overall by MLB Pipeline.
