Yuri Williams is a real-life Superhero. As a way to deal with the grief after his mother’s long battle with cancer, he decided he could do something to help others smile, especially children suffering from health issues.
Yuri, who’s better known as “Spidey” as he dresses up like superheros (such as Spiderman) and has visited tens of thousands of people in all 50 states, bringing smiles, laughter and joy during tough times in their lives.
He’s even started his own non-profit A Future Super Hero and Friends, which serves not only those in hospitals, but undeserved communities. Yuri has worked to organize toy drives, movie nights, blood drives and more – all while donning Superhero costumes.
“I live for this” Yuri says in a powerful Facebook video. “When I get to do something the next day, I can’t sleep because I’m just so excited to be helping people. It’s an adrenaline rush.”
