MADISON, WI (WNFL) – Braelon Allen scored on a 3-yard run in overtime to lift the Wisconsin Badgers to a 24-17 win over Nebraska Saturday night at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison.
Nebraska had a shot to tie the game in overtime but Chubba Purdy threw an interception to Preston Zachman in the end zone to end the game.
The victory makes the Badgers bowl eligible.
Allen ran for 62 yards and 2 scores for Wisconsin which trailed 14-0 after 1 quarter.
Tanner Mordecai completed 18-of-28 passes for 160 yards with Will Pauling catching 8 passes for 79 yards.
Purdy led Nebraska with 105 yards rushing and 169 yards passing.
After the first quarter, Wisconsin battled back making it 14-10 at halftime on a 26-yard touchdown pass from Mordecai to Jackson Acker and an Nathanial Vakos’ 30-yard field goal.
Allen put the Badgers ahead 17-14 in the third quarter on a 2-yard run.
Nebraska tied the game and sent it into overtime with a field goal by Tristan Alvano with 4 seconds left.
Wisconsin plays at Minnesota in the regular season finale this Saturday afternoon.
