SHAWANO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The discovery of mold is leading to discussions about the condition of the Shawano library.
According to the September minutes of the Library Board, “Mold was found in the closet of a meeting room. Dehumidifiers are being used to dry out the room. The wood paneling in the same room is continuing to buckle and is now pushing an outlet away from the wall and causing the carpet to dislodge.”
The Library Board meets Monday. One agenda item states: “Discussion and possible action on condition of Shawano County Library Main Branch.” What that action may be is not specified, however.
The library, 128 S. Sawyer St., was built in 1960, with a remodeling and addition completed in 1990, according to the library’s website.
